WOMEN OF VISION is a volunteer ministry of WORLD VISION, an international Christian humanitarian organization that has served the poor throughout the world since 1950 through emergency relief and long-term commitment to community-based outreach and development. Tackling the root causes of poverty, WORLD VISION provides annual assistance to more than 100 million people in nearly 100 countries worldwide, including the United States. WOMEN OF VISION works within the framework of existing WORLD VISION projects in an effort to alleviate the injustice and inequities that exist for the poor. WOMEN OF VISION was chartered as a ministry of WORLD VISION in 1991 in Orange County, California. What began as a grassroots movement led by fourteen women is today a nationally recognized organization with 35 chapters within the United States and one international chapter in Bermuda. The founding chapter, WOMEN OF VISION ORANGE COUNTY, has an active membership of over three hundred women and currently raises funds for WORLD VISION projects in Jerusalem/West Bank/Gaza, Kenya, Mexico/Baja California, Democratic Republic of Congo and the United States. WOMEN OF VISION MISSION STATEMENT WOMEN OF VISION, a volunteer ministry of WORLD VISION, is a partnership of Christian women who are called to invest their time, intellect, compassion, creativity and finances to meet the needs of impoverished and oppressed women and children. As women who believe that God works through human hands and hearts, we seek to educate and motivate women of diverse ages, backgrounds and circumstances to use their God-given resources to meet human needs in their own communities and around the world.
