After an impressive quarter-century   career in the corporate sector, Richard  Stearns joined World Vision in 1998, guiding the Christian relief, developments and advocacy organization to unprecedented growth.  Stearnes chronicles his journey from corporate CEO to advocate for those affected by poverty and injustice in his book, The Hole in Our Gospel, published by Thomas Nelson in 2009. 


The book challenges readers to view the gospel as not just a private transaction between God and individual Christians, but also as a summons to serve those in need around the world.
  
 World Vision U.S.A. is the largest member of the global World Vision Partnership which last year touched the lives of an estimated 100,000,000 people internationally.  Most recently, Richard was personally at the forefront of relief efforts in Haiti.  He speaks about the global scope of World Vision, but his warm, hands-on approach helps us put a face on the individual.
