WOV JRS PROJECTS
The Las Palmas, Tijuana ProjectThe WOV JRS have been raising funds to build a community center in the Las Palmas area of Tijuana, Mexico. This community center has helped enriched the lives of the locals by providing an area where the local population can learn new trades, come together for Bible study, for children to learn and play...and much more. This facility offers many of the necessities that few have in the surrounding area. A group of WOV Juniors traveled to the site in 2007 and in June of this year. WOV JRS are currently sponsoring 23 children in Tijuana.
WOV JRS have raised money in varies ways to support this cause. We have a taco night fundraiser every year as well as involving our children in the fundraising process with cookie sales, lemonade stands, trick or treat bags during Halloween and the like. Additionally, with funds raised WOV JRS have purchased backpacks and school supplies to give to the children in this community.
